Classic Car Chrome Abstract Red Grill. A dramatic close horizontally composed abstract shot of the chrome grill of a classic car. The grill has several horizontal bars which curve gracefully to a peak at frame right, forming a repeating pattern of alternating arches of chrome and red, with the mirror-like finish of the chromed metal picking up blues and greens from the surroundings and adding color contrast to the scene. The shapes bespeak at once both strength and fluidity. Abstract photography seeks to portray a subject not literally, but more viscerally, communicating through form (shapes, patterns, lines, curves), color, texture, and the play of light and shadow. Often, just a small portion of the whole subject is shown, in order for part to speak for the whole, to communicate deeper meaning or aesthetic appeal through the details seen which would be missed if the whole were visible.
