Description
The watermark will NOT appear on your print. This is an improved version of this image, new as of 11-12-14. Wahclella Falls and Boulder, Oregon Waterfall. A long exposure draw the flowing water into white, silky strands, as the waterfall plunges forcefully from the dramatic basalt cliffs into the pool below, throwing up a cloud of spray and mist. The mist in turn feeds the abundant mosses growing on the basalt cliffs and boulders, making vivid green the predominant color of the image. Rather than being centered, the falls are frame left, and are counter-pointed by striking boulders and tree trunks and limbs in the foreground across the frame. Wahclella Falls is found in the Columbia River Gorge, in Oregon. The 79 foot waterfall (lower tier) has also been historically known as Tanner Falls or Tanner Creek Falls (and may still be listed as so by the USGS). If you follow Tanner Creek downstream from the falls, you come to an old fish hatchery.
