Description
The watermark will NOT appear on your print. Lower Multnomah Falls waterfall Through the Mist. Subdued lighting, muted colors, and the softening effect of fog, clouds, and mist lend this vertical composition of lower Multnomah Falls an oil painting-like quality. The waterfall dominates the center of the image, and is overarched by a stone footbridge upon which the tiny figures of three people can be seen. The people are so unrecognizable as to only give the impression of people (no model release needed), and help to provide scale to the image, emphasizing the size and power of the waterfall. The falling water is frozen in time, giving it a muscular, powerful feel, which is enhanced by a spray of mist which is thrown up as the torrent plunges into a pool at the bottom of the frame. The colors are muted and cool. Located about thirty miles east of Portland, Oregon, in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls is one of the taller waterfalls in the United States, at 611 feet tall. During the coldest of winters, when the Portland area typically experiences and ice storm, Multnomah Falls often freezes. See also my many other shots of Multnomah Falls, both frozen and thawed, and of the many other waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge and Oregon.
