Description
Beech Leaves Abstract. 4928x3264px. In this composition, which could be rendered either horizontally or vertically, multiple layers of green, yellow, red, and orange beech tree leaves form a densely fractal abstract. The trunk of the mother tree extends into the image diagonally from one end, it's branches spreading out across the frame, adding additional diagonals and deeper levels of fractal patterning. This image was taken in the garden of Elaine Hutson, Corbett, Oregon. Abstract photography seeks to portray a subject not literally, but more viscerally, communicating through form (shapes, patterns, lines, curves), color, texture, and the play of light and shadow. Often, just a small portion of the whole subject is shown, in order for part to speak for the whole, to communicate deeper meaning or aesthetic appeal through the details seen which would be missed if the whole were visible.
