1957 Chevy Bel Air Grill Abstract 2. In this horizontal abstract, the golden grill and gleaming bumper of the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air reflect their surroundings. The metal, solid and static, is given a moving, fluid nature by the muscular curves of the bumper and liquid reflections on its surface. The gold of the Bel Air grill contrasts with the blue sky reflected on the mirror finish of the chrome. A few hints of the car’s red paint are also reflected, contrasting with the blue. The black rubber of the bumper guard provides a nice, dark contrast to the brightness of the chrome. The depth of field is deep, preserving a lot of detail. The Chevrolet Bel Air was Chevy’s upper model line, with the popular second generation body style running from 1955-1957. The 1957 model has the stereotypical large fins on the rear.
