1955 Chevy Tudor Grill Abstract. In this abstract horizontal composition, the gleaming chrome of a classic car reflects the varied colors and shapes of its surroundings. Many features of the 1955 Chevrolet Tudor (or Chevy Tudor, which is a two-door model) were typical of cars of the era in that they resemble features of jet aircraft, which were the high technology of the day and represented speed, power, and dominance. This photo of the grill shows the aircraft-like bumper guards. The mirror-like chrome warps the reflections of the surroundings into mercuric forms in blue and yellow, contrasting with the red paint of the car’s body. The curved forms of the bumper contrast with the straighter lines of the grill. The light is even and flat, the contrast well-controlled, allowing a lot of detail to be seen in both highlight and shadow. Chevy introduced this body style in 1955, changing it a bit in 1956 and even more in 1957 (with the addition of larger fins), the last year for this...
