1936 Chevy Coupe Headlight and Grill Abstract. In this abstract horizontal composition, the gleaming chrome of a classic car reflects the varied colors and shapes of its surroundings. This abstract tableau of the headlight and grill of a 1936 Chevrolet Couple shows the complex design of varied forms that went in to the design. Broad, sweeping lines carry the eye from the grill, along the hood past the headlight and along the fenders, back towards the vents and features beyond. The round forms of the headlight and curving fender contrasts with the repeating straighter lines of the classic chrome grill. The line delineating the transition from body to grill isn’t merely a straight edge or simple curve, but is rather replete with peaks and valleys, as if the forms depicted in the design were taken from nature and landscapes, instead of the more industrial and aircraft-like forms of the 50’s.
